Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the BHN16L
The BHN16L motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling voltage down faster than the indicator anticipates. The indicator reads pack voltage at rest, not under motor load, so it lags behind real-world depletion. Under a sustained blockage load, pack voltage can sag below the motor's minimum operating threshold while the indicator still shows mid-charge. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the vacuum's intake is blocked or the filter is heavily loaded, current draw spikes past the protection circuit's threshold and the BMS disconnects the output rail. After a few seconds the BMS resets and power returns. The fix is clearing the blockage or cleaning the filter before the next run. If the cutout happens on an unobstructed, clean filter, check that the pack voltage at rest reads above 12.6V — below that, the cells may no longer hold adequate charge under motor-start surge.
