BQ Aquaris E5 LTE / E5 4G — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (B25)
This 3.8V, 2850mAh Li-Polymer cell replaces the original B25 battery in the BQ Aquaris E5 LTE, E5 4G, and E5.0 smartphones. It matches the OEM voltage rail and physical footprint — 71.24 × 63.20 × 4.28 mm — so it seats correctly without modification. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or fails to power the phone at all.
- E5 LTE / E5 4G / E5.0 compatibility: These variants share the same B25 form factor, connector pinout, and 3.8V nominal rail. The BMS handshake is identical across the lineup, so one cell covers all three.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the E5 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, and the charge IC transitioned cleanly from constant-current to constant-voltage phase at the correct cutoff.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first complete discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC on the E5 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one full cycle at standard current lets it recalibrate against the new cell before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Aquaris E5 after a cell swap
The E5's fuel gauge IC uses a stored discharge curve from the original cell to estimate remaining capacity. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the gauge miscalculates the voltage cliff. Under a high-current load — LTE modem active, screen on — the cell voltage drops sharply, hits the BMS undervoltage threshold, and the phone cuts out before the displayed percentage reaches zero. One complete uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle rewrites the coulomb counter baseline. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.
Phone won't power on after the B25 sat discharged in storage
Li-Polymer cells that self-discharge below roughly 2.5V per cell trigger a BMS lockout — the protection circuit opens and blocks all current flow to prevent an unsafe charge into a deeply depleted cell. The phone shows nothing when you press the power button, and a standard charger may not respond either. Connect the phone to a low-current USB source — a laptop port or a 5V/500mA wall adapter — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. Most BMS circuits on the B25 will re-initialise once the cell voltage climbs back above the recovery threshold, typically around 2.8V, and normal charging then resumes.
