Why the BRV-PRO battery reads full but audio cuts after extended play
The BRV-PRO uses a simple coulomb-counting fuel gauge that drifts when the cell is never fully discharged. Constant top-off charging — plugging in before the pack drops below 50% — causes the gauge to lose its reference point over time. The speaker's protection circuit then triggers a low-voltage cutoff at what looks like a mid-range charge reading. A single full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the reference and restores accurate reporting.
Audio distorting before the battery indicator reaches empty
At high volume, the BRV-PRO's amplifier draws sharp current spikes that cause the cell voltage to sag below the amplifier's clean operating threshold before the fuel gauge registers low. The result is audible clipping or distortion while the indicator still shows charge remaining. This is a voltage-sag issue, not a capacity issue — a fresh cell with good internal resistance reduces sag and pushes the distortion point lower. If the symptom appears consistently above 70% volume, check resting cell voltage under no load; it should read above 3.6V after a full charge.
