Why the RJ-2035B paper feed jams when the battery is low
The feed motor in the RJ-2035B requires consistent torque to pull paper through the thermal head at the right pressure. As cell voltage drops below roughly 6.8V, the motor loses torque and can no longer advance the paper cleanly. The result is a partial feed or a full jam — not a mechanical fault, just insufficient drive voltage. Charge the battery to full before the job and the jam clears without any manual intervention to the feed mechanism.
Faded or uneven print on a freshly installed battery
The thermal print head needs a stable voltage supply to maintain consistent element temperature across the print line. If the battery cell voltage is unstable during the first few cycles — common with a new cell that hasn't completed its initial charge — the head temperature fluctuates and produces faded or striped output. This is not a head fault. Run the unit through two full charge-discharge cycles and the cell voltage stabilises. After that, print density should be even at 7.4V nominal.
