About this replacement
Cable & Wireless CWD600 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BC102549)
This is a 3.6V, 300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Cable & Wireless CWD600, CWD700, CWD2000, and CWD3000 cordless handsets. OEM part number BC102549 — also cross-references 300MAH0735, 1-32-125C, and 85H. It fits the handset battery compartment directly and restores the handset to normal operation when the original cell has degraded.
- CWD600 / CWD700 / CWD2000 / CWD3000 compatibility: All four models share the same 3.6V Ni-MH cell format, connector pinout, and base station charging circuit. One battery covers the full range — no wiring adapters or housing modifications needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the CWD600 base station and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake without error. Voltage at full charge measured within the expected range for Ni-MH at this capacity.
- First charge on a NiMH cordless handset: Place the handset in the base immediately after fitting and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need a slow, uninterrupted first charge to reach rated capacity — a short top-up charge will leave the cell short of its full 300mAh.
Talk time shorter than original battery after replacement
Ni-MH cells do not deliver full rated capacity on the first charge cycle — this is normal chemistry, not a fault. The cell needs three to five full charge-and-use cycles before it reaches 300mAh. Each cycle should run the handset down to low-battery cutoff before returning it to the base. After five cycles, talk time should stabilise at the rated level.
Base station showing no charge or error light after fitting new battery
Ni-MH cells lose voltage during storage. If the cell voltage drops low enough, the base station charging circuit may not recognise it as a valid battery and will withhold charge. Remove the handset, leave it off the base for 30 seconds, then re-seat it firmly — the base needs a clean contact reset. If the error light persists, check that the handset contacts and base cradle contacts are clean and making full contact. A brief wipe with a dry cloth on both contact points is enough to restore continuity and allow charging to begin.
