Canon FS10 / VIXIA HF G10 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BP-808)
This is a 7.4V, 890mAh Li-ion replacement for the Canon BP-808 battery. It fits the FS10, FS11, FS100, VIXIA HF G10, and over 34 additional Canon camcorder and compact camera models. Voltage and cell chemistry match OEM spec exactly.
- FS and VIXIA series compatibility: These Canon bodies share the same battery bay geometry, 7.4V rail, and BP-808 BMS handshake. The connector pinout is identical across the FS10 through the VIXIA HF G10, so one cell works across the entire platform without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through a Canon FS10 body and monitored BMS communication at each charge stage. The protection circuit responded correctly to full-charge cutoff and low-voltage shutoff, with no false trip during continuous video recording draws.
- First-use charge cycle on Canon bodies: Insert the battery and charge it fully inside the Canon body or OEM charger before your first recording session. Canon's BMS maps its battery-remaining display against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step can cause the indicator to read incorrectly from the first use.

Some Canon FS and VIXIA bodies perform an authentication check when a new cell is seated. If the body has not previously logged the cell, it may display a battery warning or refuse to power on entirely. This is not a defective cell — it is the body's BMS initialisation sequence. Charge the battery fully via the OEM charger or directly in the camera body, then power cycle the camera. After one complete charge cycle, the body registers the cell and the warning clears.
Battery percentage jumping erratically on the FS10 display
Canon's fuel gauge maps voltage thresholds against a discharge curve calibrated to the original BP-808 cell. A new replacement cell may have a slightly different discharge curve at mid-range, causing the indicator to skip segments or jump between readings. This does not mean the cell is faulty — actual capacity is unaffected. Run two full charge-and-discharge cycles in the camera body to allow the BMS to recalibrate its threshold mapping, and the display will stabilise.
