Charging errors on a new cell are almost always a contact issue, not a cell fault. The DT-X7 cradle uses spring-loaded dock contacts that collect dust and oxidation in warehouse environments. Resistance across dirty contacts confuses the cradle's charge controller, which logs the fault instead of starting the charge cycle. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the error clears in most cases.

The DT-X7 runs its wireless radio and scan trigger simultaneously during fast barcode capture. Each scan trigger event pulls a short inrush current on top of the sustained radio polling load. If the cell voltage sags below roughly 3.2V under this combined draw, the radio module browns out and drops the network connection. Recharge the pack — if the dropouts continue on a full charge, check the battery contacts for debris and confirm the cell is reading above 3.6V at rest before the next shift.
