This is a 3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the CAT B10 rugged smartphone. It uses OEM part number UP704060AL and fits directly into the B10's battery bay. Voltage and cell dimensions match the original: 64.63 × 43.95 × 7.95mm.
- CAT B10 fit: The B10 uses a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion configuration. This cell matches that voltage rail and the connector orientation on the B10 battery deck. No adapter or modification needed.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a B10 unit. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without error, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold during deep discharge simulation.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging if your carrier or ROM supports the toggle. Run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the CAT B10 after a cell swap
The B10's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve from the original cell. After a cell swap, that stored curve no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage profile. When the modem fires up for a call or the screen brightness peaks, the new cell's voltage sags briefly. The fuel gauge reads that sag against the old curve and triggers a low-voltage shutdown — even though the cell still has usable charge. One full discharge-charge cycle recalibrates the coulomb counter and eliminates the false cutoff.
CAT B10 not powering on after storage with a replacement cell
Li-ion cells that sit discharged in storage can drop below 2.5V per cell. At that point, the BMS locks out to prevent thermal damage, and the phone will not respond to a normal charge attempt. Connect the B10 to a wall charger — not a USB hub — and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the phone still shows no charge indicator after 40 minutes, the cell has likely dropped below recoverable voltage.
