This is a 3V, 2500mAh alkaline replacement battery for Cattron Theimeg crane remote control systems. It fits the 70C0003KIT and 70C-0003KIT-C wireless remotes used in overhead crane and industrial hoist operations. OEM part number is 60C-0060A.
- 70C0003KIT and 70C-0003KIT-C compatibility: Both models run on the same 3V power rail with identical connector and cell housing dimensions. The 60C-0060A cell slots directly into either unit without modification to the battery bay or contacts.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through command transmission cycles on a 70C0003KIT unit. The remote held stable voltage across standard crane operation sequences, including multi-button presses and E-stop activation. No dropout was recorded during testing.
- Storage and activation tip for infrequent crane use: Alkaline cells left in idle remotes for extended periods can develop contact corrosion from micro-leakage. Remove the battery if the remote will sit unused for more than 60 days, and inspect the contacts for white residue before reinstalling a fresh cell.
Remote showing low battery immediately after new cell install
Alkaline cells ship at storage voltage, which sits slightly below nominal. Some Cattron Theimeg remotes read this as a low-battery condition on first power-up. This is not a fault with the cell. The remote's voltage detection threshold is calibrated for a fully active cell. If the low-battery indicator clears after a few minutes of use, the cell is drawing up to working voltage normally and no action is required.
Solenoid or relay activation causing power dropout on the remote
When a crane solenoid or relay fires, the remote generates a brief inrush current spike as it transmits the activation command. A partially depleted alkaline cell may not sustain voltage through that spike, causing the remote to cut out mid-command. This is a capacity issue, not a fault with the remote. If dropout occurs during hoist activation, replace the cell — do not attempt to continue operating with a cell that has already shown this behaviour on a safety-critical control.
