Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
On the Conga 11090, motor voltage sag can occur well before the battery indicator signals a low state. When the filter is partially blocked or the brush roll is restricted, the motor draws above its rated current. The BMS interprets this sustained over-draw and begins throttling output voltage to protect the cells, which the robot translates as reduced suction power rather than a fault. Clean the filter and check the brush roll for hair wrap before assuming the battery is at fault — a clean airway drops motor current back into the normal operating band.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the Conga 11090 transitions from hard floor to thick carpet, or encounters a blockage, the motor load spikes sharply. If that spike exceeds the BMS overcurrent threshold — typically for more than a few seconds — the BMS disconnects the output to protect the cells, and the robot stops. It recovers once the BMS resets, usually within 10–30 seconds. Clear any obstruction from the intake, verify the filter is clean, and confirm the battery terminals are seated firmly before assuming a faulty cell.
