Why this battery

  • Fits the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 and WinDroid 980 robotic vacuums; replaces OEM part INR14500-4S1P.
  • 14.8V lithium-ion cell delivers 800mAh capacity — sufficient output to restore motor torque on carpet and hard floors.
  • Connector seats vertically into the battery slot with a single-tab lock mechanism; orient the contact plate upward.
  • We bench tested this cell on a WinDroid 970 motor load test; the BMS accepted the charge cycle without fault codes.
  • Remove the vacuum from its dock immediately after charging completes — continuous trickle charge degrades capacity faster than scheduled dock cycles.

About this replacement

Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 / 980 — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR14500-4S1P)

This 14.8V 800mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Cecotec Conga WinDroid 970 and Conga WinDroid 980 robotic vacuum cleaners. It matches the OEM part number INR14500-4S1P and fits the same battery bay without modification. Capacity is 800mAh (11.84Wh), identical to the factory specification.

  • WinDroid 970 and 980 compatibility: Both models run the same 14.8V four-cell series configuration with the INR14500-4S1P designation. The BMS pinout and connector are shared across this pair, so one cell fits both without rewiring or adapter hardware.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this battery through charge and discharge cycles on the WinDroid platform. The BMS communicated correctly with the charger, accepted a full charge without fault flags, and delivered stable voltage through the cleaning cycle without mid-run cutoff.
  • Dock charging behaviour on the WinDroid 970: Remove the robot from the charging dock once the indicator shows full. The WinDroid 970 does not interrupt trickle current automatically when left docked for extended periods. Continuous dock contact accelerates capacity fade in this cell format faster than a standard charge-and-remove routine.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

The WinDroid 970 motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter is the most common trigger. As current demand rises, the pack voltage sags under load even though the cell is not genuinely depleted. The robot interprets the voltage sag as a charge state drop and reduces motor speed to protect the cells. Clean or replace the HEPA filter first, then retest — restored airflow typically brings suction back to full output at the same charge level.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When the robot encounters a rug edge, a cable, or a clogged brush roll, the motor load spikes sharply and the BMS opens the discharge circuit to protect the cells. The pack resets after a few seconds once current demand drops. Clear any obstruction from the brush roll, confirm the filter is clean, and check that the intake channel is unblocked — sustained restricted suction is the most common cause of repeat trips on this platform.
