CHI Escape GF7054 Replacement Battery - Replaces INR18650 2S1P

$25.65In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits CHI Escape GF7054 cordless hair straightener; replaces OEM INR18650 2S1P battery pack.
  • 7.4V 2200mAh delivers sustained heat output for full styling sessions without voltage sag under motor load.
  • Cylindrical INR18650 cell configuration slides into the cordless handle cartridge; polarity marked on contact terminals.
  • Bench testing showed stable voltage delivery across discharge cycles; BMS protection engages at cutoff without premature shutdown.
  • Dry the charging port fully after use near water—moisture bridging the contacts triggers a BMS protection fault that stops charging until contacts are clean and dry.

About this replacement

CHI Escape GF7054 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (INR18650 2S1P)

This 7.4V 2200mAh lithium-ion battery fits the CHI Escape GF7054 cordless hair straightener. It uses a 2S1P INR18650 cell configuration — two 18650 cells in series — to hit the 7.4V nominal rail the heating element and control board require. Swap it in when the original no longer holds a charge or the straightener cuts out before styling is done.

  • GF7054 cell format: The 2S1P layout is dictated by the GF7054's voltage rail and the physical cavity inside the handle. Both cells must match in capacity and internal resistance — a mismatched pair causes one cell to overdischarge while the other stays high, which triggers BMS cutoff mid-use.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated heat-up loads on the GF7054 board. The BMS held protection thresholds correctly at both low-voltage cutoff and high-temp charge inhibit — no false trips under normal styling loads.
  • Heating plate warm-up and battery draw: The GF7054 draws its highest current in the first 20–30 seconds when the plates ramp to temperature. Avoid switching the unit on and off repeatedly in quick succession — each cold start pulls peak current and accelerates cell wear faster than continuous use does.

Why the GF7054 shuts off before the battery indicator hits low

The heating element pulls a sharp current spike every time the plates cycle to maintain temperature. If the cells have aged or capacity has faded, internal resistance rises. That resistance causes a momentary voltage sag under load — enough to cross the BMS undervoltage threshold even when the indicator still reads mid-charge. The fix is a full charge followed by a full discharge cycle to let the fuel gauge recalibrate to the new cell's actual capacity.

GF7054 shows no charge after use near a sink or bathroom steam

Moisture on the charging contacts or inside the port triggers a BMS protection fault that blocks charging entirely — the device reads as dead rather than wet. Remove the battery, leave the port open and face-down in a dry room for at least two hours. Reconnect only when the contacts are fully dry. If the fault persists after drying, check contact voltage with a multimeter — it should read 0V at the port pins while the BMS protection latch is active, and recover to 8.4V once cleared.
