Why the ClareOne panel drains this battery faster after a network change
When the panel loses its primary network connection — due to a router change, SSID update, or ISP outage — it increases its polling frequency while trying to reconnect. That elevated polling draws more current from the backup cell than normal standby operation. A battery that looked fine before a network change may now deplete noticeably faster. Restoring a stable network connection returns the panel to its standard low-draw standby mode.

If the panel throws a low battery alert within minutes of a new cell being installed, the replacement battery arrived from storage at a voltage below the panel's warning threshold — typically under 3.5V. The BMS reads that as a depleted cell and fires the alert before any charge has occurred. Connect the panel to mains power and allow a full charge cycle to complete. Once the cell climbs above the alert threshold the warning clears automatically.
