Clevo Premium TV XS3210 / W940S — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (6-87-W940S)
This is an 11.1V, 2200mAh (24.42Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Clevo Premium TV XS3210 and W940S notebooks. It slots into the same bay as the factory cell and connects to the same BMS circuit. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge between AC connections.
- XS3210 and W940S platform fit: Both models share the same 6-87-W940S battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. OEM part numbers 6-87-W940S-424, W940BAT-3, and W940BAT-6 are all revisions of the same physical cell — they fit the same bay without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on a W940S-class board. The BMS negotiated correctly, the fuel gauge registered cell presence without error flags, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at over-discharge threshold.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the XS3210 BIOS flags a new battery as poor health on first boot
The W940S platform stores battery health data in EEPROM on the battery PCB. When you swap cells, the BIOS reads the blank or mismatched EEPROM and logs a health warning — it has nothing to do with the new cell's actual condition. The firmware needs at least one full charge-discharge cycle to rewrite calibration data. Until that cycle completes, Windows battery health tools and the BIOS setup screen will both report inaccurate figures.
XS3210 shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen
This is a voltage cliff symptom — the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage on screen does not match the actual cell voltage. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts, and the BMS cuts power before the OS can hibernate. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by uninterrupted charges to 100%. After the second cycle, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and the shutdown-at-30% behaviour stops. Confirm recovery by checking battery voltage in a hardware monitor — it should read above 10.8V at the point the gauge shows 20%.
