COMEN CM-1200A Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (JHT-99D-00)
This 14.8V, 5600mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original pack in the COMEN CM-1200A, CM-1200A ECG, and CM-1200A EKG patient monitors. These monitors run continuous vital signs acquisition in clinical and transport settings, and a degraded battery pack is a direct patient safety concern. OEM part numbers JHT-99D-00 and 022-000041-00 both confirm compatibility across the CM-1200A platform.
- CM-1200A platform fit: The ECG and EKG variants of the CM-1200A share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol as the base monitor — one pack fits all three because the power subsystem was not changed between variants.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the CM-1200A charge cycle and confirmed the BMS handshake completes correctly, the charge IC accepts the cell without fault, and the monitor exits charge mode at the expected cutoff voltage.
- Post-installation self-test protocol: After fitting this battery, allow the CM-1200A to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption — the monitor runs a BMS verification sequence at startup, and cutting power mid-sequence creates a persistent battery fault flag that does not clear until the next clean boot.
CM-1200A not completing boot sequence after battery swap
The CM-1200A runs a BMS authentication check during its power-on sequence. A new cell that has not completed its first full charge-discharge cycle may not report state-of-charge within the monitor's expected window, causing the boot to stall or loop. This is a BMS learn-cycle issue, not a hardware fault. Charge the replacement pack fully, allow the monitor to boot uninterrupted, then discharge it through normal clinical use before the first official deployment.
Charge indicator stalling below 100% on first charge
On the first charge cycle, the CM-1200A's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it reads an unfamiliar cell impedance profile. This causes the indicator to plateau — typically around 90–95% — before the IC re-evaluates and resumes. The cell is not defective. Leave the monitor on charge until the indicator advances; if it stalls beyond 4 hours, disconnect, power cycle, and reconnect — the charge IC resets its threshold and the counter resumes from where it stopped.
