COMEN H12 — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (022-000138-00)
This 11.1V 2600mAh (28.86Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the COMEN H12 multi-parameter patient monitor. It fits the H12 directly and matches the original voltage rail, connector, and BMS communication protocol. Use it during patient transport or when mains power is unavailable.
- H12 monitor fit: The H12 uses an 11.1V three-cell Li-ion pack with a specific BMS handshake tied to that voltage rail. A pack running a different cell configuration or voltage will either trigger a battery fault or fail the device self-test — this replacement matches the original on both counts.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the H12 power-on sequence and confirmed the BMS completed its verification handshake without faulting. Cell voltage at full charge measured within spec across all three cells, and the charge IC accepted the pack without forcing an error state.
- Post-installation self-test cycle: After fitting this battery, allow the H12 to complete its full power-on self-test without interruption. The device runs a BMS verification at startup — cutting power during this sequence can lock in a false battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot.
Why the H12 flags a battery fault after a confirmed full charge
The H12 BMS compares cell voltage and internal resistance against thresholds calibrated for a conditioned OEM pack. A new replacement cell has higher internal resistance and slightly different charge curve characteristics on the first cycle — the device reads this as a degraded or non-compliant pack. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle lets the BMS update its learned parameters and clear the fault. After that first cycle, the battery fault flag should not return under normal operating conditions.
H12 failing to power on after the battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this pack sat long enough to drop below approximately 9V (the three-cell BMS recovery threshold), the H12 may refuse to boot — the BMS locks out discharge to protect the cells from deep discharge damage. Connect the battery to the H12 on mains power and leave it on charge for a minimum of two hours before attempting to power on the monitor. Most BMS controllers begin a trickle recovery charge at 50–100mA to bring cells back above the lockout threshold before switching to standard charge current.
