NV8 not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The NV8 runs a BMS learn cycle on first use — if the cell voltage is below the device's minimum boot threshold after storage, the monitor may stall partway through startup. A new cell that has self-discharged during shipping can sit just under that threshold. Connect the monitor to AC power first, allow a full charge, then boot without AC. This resets the BMS state and the boot sequence completes normally.
Charge indicator not reaching 100% on first charge
The NV8's charge IC applies a conservative current limit when it detects a new or cold cell, which means the first charge cycle often terminates early at 90–95% indicated. This is the charge controller protecting the cell, not a fault. Run one full charge-discharge cycle — charge to termination on AC, use the monitor on battery until the low-battery alarm triggers, then recharge fully. After that cycle the charge IC recalibrates and the indicator reaches 100%.
