The 12272020 runs a BMS learn cycle during its first boot with a new cell. To clear it, perform one full charge to 100%, then power the device on and leave it undisturbed through the entire startup sequence.
Charge indicator stalls below 100% on the first charge
On the first charge after installation, the Compat Ella's charge IC applies a conservative current limit to an unrecognised cell — this is normal behaviour, not a fault. The indicator may plateau at 85–95% for an extended period before completing. Do not disconnect the charger early. Let the charge cycle finish fully; the IC recalibrates its limit once it has logged the cell's first full charge curve, and subsequent charges will reach 100% faster.
