Why the PM1000N alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The PM1000N's BMS stores a learned capacity profile from the previous cell. When a new cell is installed, the BMS compares the incoming voltage signature against that stored profile. A new cell at 8.4V (full charge) can still fail this comparison if the internal resistance reading doesn't match the OEM baseline the device expects. One complete charge-discharge cycle resets the learned profile and clears the alarm. Do not use the device in a clinical setting until this cycle is complete.
PM1000N won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell voltage drops below approximately 6.0V, the PM1000N's BMS enters a lockout state and refuses to initiate a boot sequence. This is a protection threshold, not a device fault. Place the battery on a compatible Li-ion charger rated for 7.2V chemistry and allow it to trickle charge for at least two hours before reinserting. Once the cell recovers above the BMS recovery threshold, the device will power on normally.
