Why the TSR-310 touchscreen goes blank mid-use before the battery is fully discharged
Li-polymer cells in touch remotes don't fail linearly. As the cell ages, internal resistance rises and voltage sags sharply under the display backlight load, even when resting voltage looks acceptable. The TSR-310's BMS triggers a shutdown at around 3.2V to protect the cell — so the screen cuts out while the battery still shows a partial charge indicator. A new cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage above that cutoff threshold for far longer. If blank-screen shutdowns start happening frequently, the cell has crossed into replacement territory.
TSR-310 not responding after battery swap
The most common cause is an unseated connector rather than a faulty cell. Remove the battery, reseat the connector with firm even pressure, and confirm it clicks into the housing. If the remote still won't power on, check that the replacement cell is reading at or above 3.6V with a multimeter before installation — cells that shipped in a deeply discharged state may need a 15-minute charge in the remote before the BMS wakes up and the display initialises.
