Pack running at lower voltage than rated on first installation
Li-Polymer cells ship at storage voltage — typically 3.70V to 3.80V — not at full charge. If your device reads low battery or behaves unexpectedly immediately after fitting, that is why. The cell has not been degraded; it simply has not been charged yet. Connect the device to its charger before drawing any load, and the pack will climb to its full 3.85V nominal range.
Device not accepting the pack after swap
Some compact devices run a voltage-range check or a basic BMS handshake at power-on before accepting a new pack. If the device fails to turn on or immediately shuts down after installation, charge the pack fully via the OEM charger first, then power-cycle the device. A full charge brings the cell voltage within the range the device's protection circuit expects, which is typically above 3.80V, and clears most rejection faults on the first retry.
