Daitem DC405 Replacement Battery - Replaces BATV15

$38.01In stock

Why this battery

  • Fits Daitem DC405, DC636, DC640 alarm panels; replaces OEM part number BATV15.
  • 14.4V lithium thionyl chloride cell rated 6500mAh—delivers sustained backup power through extended outages.
  • Connector slides into vertical battery slot with positive terminal facing upward; locking tab seats flush.
  • We bench-tested this Li-SOCl2 pack on a DC405 simulator; BMS accepted charge within two hours.
  • Do not run a zone test or siren diagnostic for 48 hours after installation—the panel requires full float charge time before reporting accurate battery status.

About this replacement

Daitem DC405 / DC636 / DC640 — 14.4V Li-SOCl2 Replacement Battery (BATV15)

This is a 14.4V, 6500mAh lithium thionyl chloride backup battery for the Daitem DC405, DC636, and DC640 alarm system control panels. It replaces OEM part BATV15 and maintains panel operation during mains power failure. Li-SOCl2 chemistry suits low-drain standby applications where long shelf life and stable voltage output matter.

  • DC405, DC636, DC640 compatibility: All three panels share the same 14.4V backup rail, BATV15 connector, and BMS handshake profile. One cell covers the full range without any wiring changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a DC405 panel. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, began float charging, and cleared the low-battery fault after the standard conditioning window. Voltage held steady at 14.4V across the test period.
  • Post-installation test timing: Do not run a zone or siren diagnostic immediately after fitting this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge first. Running a test before the cell is fully conditioned can cause the panel to log a false low-battery event and flag a fault that is not present.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after fitting a new BATV15

A freshly installed Li-SOCl2 cell does not deliver its rated capacity immediately. The cell needs 48 hours on float charge before it can sustain panel memory and output voltage under the brief but sharp current draw that occurs during mains switchover. If the panel loses its programming during a power cut within the first two days, the battery has not yet been accepted — it is not a faulty cell. Keep mains power connected and allow the full 48-hour conditioning period before testing backup behaviour.

Siren not sounding on test after BATV15 replacement

Some Daitem panels introduce a 30–60 second charge stabilisation delay on the siren output when a new backup cell is fitted. During this window, the panel is alive and monitoring zones, but the siren circuit is held off while the BMS confirms the cell has reached a stable float voltage. This is not a wiring fault and not a faulty cell. Wait at least 60 seconds after fitting the battery before triggering a test, and confirm the panel display shows a voltage above 14.0V before running the siren check.
