This 2.4V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces OEM part 773-499-44 in the Damag DRC10 crane remote control. It fits the wireless handheld transmitter used to operate industrial cranes and hoisting equipment. Voltage and capacity match the original cell pack exactly.

- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through solenoid-activation loads typical of crane remote transmitters. The cells held stable voltage under repeated relay-trigger bursts without dropping below the remote's low-battery threshold.
- Monthly charge during idle periods: Crane remotes often sit unused for weeks between jobs. Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day — a remote left uncharged for two months can drop to a voltage too low for the transmitter to boot. Charge the pack once a month even when the crane is not in use.
Solenoid activation causing power dropout on the DRC10
When the DRC10 triggers a crane solenoid or contactor relay, there is a brief inrush current spike as the coil energises. A weak or partially discharged Ni-MH pack can sag below the remote's operating voltage during that spike, causing the transmitter to cut out mid-command. This looks like a faulty remote but is almost always a battery voltage issue. Charge the pack fully — resting voltage for a 2.4V Ni-MH at capacity should measure 2.6–2.8V — before diagnosing any other fault.

Replacement Ni-MH batteries ship at storage voltage — typically around 2.2–2.3V — not full charge. The DRC10 reads this as a low or depleted pack and flags the warning immediately. This is not a faulty battery. Connect the battery to the charger for a full cycle before the first use. Once charged to 2.6V or above, the low-battery indicator will clear and the remote will operate normally.
