Why the DAQRI Smart Glasses lose AR tracking below 20% charge
The spatial tracking stack on the DQR002001 requires a stable voltage floor to maintain sensor fusion between the depth camera and the inertial measurement unit. Once cell voltage drops below roughly 7.0V under load, the tracking processor receives insufficient current to sustain its update rate. The result is overlay drift or sudden repositioning of the AR content — not a software bug, but a voltage event. Headset shuts down without warning during active use
The DAQRI Smart Glasses combine display output, wireless data, and depth processing simultaneously, which creates short, high-current demand spikes. The BMS reads that drop as a critically low-voltage event and cuts output immediately — the headset shuts off with no warning, even when the charge indicator shows 30% or more.
