This 3.8V, 4000mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Datalogic BTDL35, Memor 10, and DM88 handheld barcode scanners. These units are widely deployed in retail, warehouse picking, and logistics workflows where a dead battery stops the shift cold. Voltage, connector, and BMS handshake all match the OEM specification.

Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged cell on the first shift prevents false BMS trips that can look like a faulty battery.

A charging error on a new pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a failed cell. The dock pins on the Memor 10 and DM88 cradles accumulate dust and oxidation quickly in warehouse environments. Even slight resistance at the contacts is enough for the dock's charge controller to flag a fault. Wipe the battery contacts and cradle pins with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the error clears in most cases.

When the scanner fires the imager and transmits over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth simultaneously, the combined current draw spikes sharply. If the cell voltage has sagged from repeated shallow cycling, the BMS may briefly throttle output to protect the cell — and the radio drops first because it draws less priority than the CPU. This presents as intermittent disconnects timed exactly with heavy scanning activity rather than idle periods. Charge the pack fully before the shift and check that cell voltage is above 3.6V before deploying the unit.
