This 7.4V, 1200mAh Li-ion battery is a direct replacement for the Datalogic JET and 001-101 handheld barcode scanners. - First-shift charge protocol for the JET: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle and allow a full charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips on the first shift.

The JET cradle reads pack status through gold contact pads on the battery base. Oxidation or residue on either the pack contacts or dock contacts raises resistance enough for the charger circuit to flag an error. This is not a cell fault — it is a contact fault. Wipe both surfaces with a dry cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the error clears in most cases. If the error persists, check that the pack is seated flush with no debris under the locking tab.

On the JET, the radio and the scan trigger draw current simultaneously during a burst scan sequence. At higher scan rates, this combined inrush can pull cell voltage below the BMS communication threshold for a fraction of a second, dropping the wireless link. A degraded or partially discharged cell makes this worse because internal resistance rises as capacity fades. Start the shift with a fully charged pack and check that cell voltage reads above 7.0V under load before issuing the unit to staff.
