This 7.4V 3400mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Datalogic Kyman handheld barcode scanner. It fits the Kyman series used in retail, logistics, and warehouse inventory operations. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first pick-and-pack shift.

Datalogic Kyman cradles verify battery contact resistance before initiating a charge cycle. A new pack with oxidised or slightly misaligned contacts can fail that handshake and throw a charging error even though the battery itself is fine. The fix is mechanical — remove the pack, wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat firmly until you feel the latch click. If the error clears, the contact resistance dropped below the cradle's threshold and charging will proceed normally.

During a rapid scan burst, the Kyman fires the imager and maintains a wireless radio link simultaneously — both draw current at the same moment. On a depleted or degraded cell, this combined inrush can cause a brief voltage sag that drops the radio below its minimum operating threshold, cutting the wireless connection mid-session. This is not a firmware or network issue — it is a voltage delivery problem at the cell level. Confirm the pack is above 7.0V under load before the shift starts; if the sag persists on a fresh charge, the cell capacity has degraded and the pack needs replacing.
