This 3.7V 3300mAh Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Datalogic Pegaso and P20 series handheld mobile computers. It fits models Pegaso, P20, P20-1001, and 950401003 — all sharing the same cell format and BMS handshake. Capacity is 3300mAh (12.21Wh), matching the original specification.
- Pegaso and P20 platform fit: These models run the same 3.7V power rail and use the same battery bay connector. The BMS communication protocol is identical across the range, so one cell format covers all listed variants without any firmware conflict.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the P20 platform. The BMS negotiated correctly at both ends — no false low-battery flags at full charge, and the protection circuit cut off cleanly at the lower voltage threshold under scan-trigger load.
- First-shift preparation: After installing, seat the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before taking it to the floor. Scan trigger inrush is highest when the cell is near minimum voltage — a fully charged pack on the first shift prevents the BMS tripping on that initial current spike.

A new battery can trigger a charging fault on the Pegaso cradle even when the pack itself is fine. The most common cause is high contact resistance between the battery terminals and the dock's charging pins — oxidation or debris on either surface interrupts the charge handshake. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle pins with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, the dock was not making a solid electrical connection, not a fault with the cell.

During fast barcode scanning, the imager and the wireless radio draw current at the same time. On a degraded or low battery, that combined inrush pulls the cell voltage down sharply enough that the radio drops its connection to the access point. The scanner may continue scanning locally but stops transmitting data — which looks like a network issue rather than a power issue. Charge the pack to full before the shift and check that resting cell voltage reads above 3.6V before deploying the unit.
