This 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the S-D0910A cell in the Dell Digital Jukebox series, including the Jukebox DJ, Jukebox DJ 1st, and Jukebox 2nd generation models. Battery percentage jumping erratically after cell swap
The Dell Jukebox estimates charge level by mapping voltage to a percentage table calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new cell starts with a slightly different resting voltage than a depleted original, so the indicator recalculates at startup and can show unexpected jumps. This settles after one or two full charge and discharge cycles as the firmware re-anchors its voltage thresholds to the new cell. Run the player down to auto-shutoff, charge fully to 4.2V, and repeat once — the readout stabilises.
Playback cutting out before the battery indicator shows empty
The audio amplifier circuit in the Jukebox draws a brief current spike when driving headphone output at higher volumes. Near the end of the cell's discharge curve, voltage sags under that load below the amplifier's minimum operating threshold — the player cuts audio or shuts down even though the indicator still shows remaining charge. This is a voltage-sag issue, not a capacity issue. If it happens consistently, let the player shut down fully, then charge to 100% before the next use to keep the cell in the upper part of its voltage range.
