This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can recalculate — the gauge still shows 25% but the cell is already below the 9.0V cutoff threshold the EC uses for emergency shutdown. It happens most often on the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has mapped the new cell's discharge curve. Run two full calibration cycles as described above.
