Audio distortion before the battery indicator reaches empty on the DSB-100
The DSB-100 amplifier draws a sharp current spike at high volume levels. When the cell voltage sags under that load — typically below 3.4V — the amplifier clips before the fuel gauge registers empty. This makes the speaker sound distorted while the indicator still shows charge remaining. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage under load, which pushes that clipping threshold back toward true empty.
Envaya Mini not waking from USB charge after sitting unused for weeks
A deeply discharged Li-ion cell can drop below the minimum acceptance voltage for the USB charging circuit — typically under 2.5V — causing the charger to refuse to initiate a charge cycle. The speaker appears completely dead even when plugged in. Some units recover if you hold the power button for 10 seconds while connected, which forces the controller to attempt a trickle pre-charge. If that fails, the cell has self-discharged past recovery and replacement is the only fix.
