This is a 14.4V, 2500mAh (36Wh) Li-ion battery for the Dirt Devil BD22052 and Power Swerve Pet cordless stick vacuums. It replaces OEM part number 440013394 directly. When the original cell degrades and suction drops off early, swapping this battery restores full motor voltage.
- BD22052 and Power Swerve Pet compatibility: Both models run the same 14.4V motor rail and use the same physical pack housing with identical connector pinout and BMS communication protocol — one battery covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the BD22052 motor platform. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and the charger handshake completed without error flags.

Suction dropping off before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects, triggering a voltage sag that reduces motor speed before the pack is actually depleted. On the BD22052, a partially clogged filter is the most common trigger — restricted airflow forces the motor to work harder, pulling current above the pack's steady-state output rating. The battery reads mid-charge on the indicator because it still holds capacity, but the voltage under load has already sagged below the motor's efficient operating point. Clean the filter first, then retest — if suction restores and holds, the battery is not the cause.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked brush roll, full dustbin, or a clogged post-filter — the motor draws a sustained spike above the BMS overcurrent threshold and the pack shuts output to protect the cells. After a brief rest the BMS resets and the vacuum powers back on. Clear the blockage and empty the bin before assuming the battery is at fault. If the cutouts continue on a clean, unobstructed vacuum, check that the replacement pack's BMS has completed its initial handshake with the charger — a full charge cycle to 16.8V resolves most initialisation gaps.
