Why this battery

  • Fits DOTLUX NOTSTROM AKKU-KIT emergency lighting units replacing OEM part numbers 5938 and 230612S11.
  • 6.4V 3000mAh LiFePO4 chemistry delivers 19.2Wh for full-duration backup illumination on power loss.
  • Connector slides into the cylindrical battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact.
  • We bench-tested this cell in a NOTSTROM test rig—BMS accepted the pack on first charge cycle without voltage faults.
  • Run a manual test cycle within 24 hours of installation by holding the test button for full rated duration to confirm the charge controller registers the new cell capacity.

About this replacement

DOTLUX NOTSTROM AKKU-KIT — 6.4V LiFePO4 Replacement Battery (5938)

This is a 6.4V 3000mAh LiFePO4 replacement cell for the DOTLUX NOTSTROM AKKU-KIT emergency lighting system. It fits the AKKU-KIT, 5556, and 4343-2 models. Voltage and chemistry match the OEM specification exactly, keeping the charge controller in its normal operating window.

  • AKKU-KIT, 5556 and 4343-2 compatibility: All three fittings share the same 6.4V LiFePO4 charge rail and connector footprint. The BMS in each unit expects LiFePO4 float voltage — swapping to Li-ion chemistry would push the charge controller out of range and trigger a permanent fault LED.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on the AKKU-KIT charge circuit. The BMS accepted the cell without a fault event, and the charge indicator advanced to green within the expected absorption window.
  • First test cycle after installation: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This confirms the new cell accepts load under emergency conditions and lets the charge controller register actual cell capacity before the next scheduled compliance test.

Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement

A freshly installed LiFePO4 cell ships with a partial state of charge — typically 40–60% — from storage. If a duration test runs before a full charge cycle completes, the cell will exhaust early and the fitting will fail compliance. LiFePO4 cells also require one complete charge-discharge cycle before they reach rated capacity. Allow at least 24 hours on mains charge after installation, then run a full test cycle before logging a compliance result.

Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation

Extended storage can pull a LiFePO4 cell below the charge controller's float acceptance window — usually around 5.5V for a 6.4V pack. When the cell arrives below that threshold, the controller sees the voltage as out-of-range and holds the fault state rather than beginning a charge cycle. Connect the fitting to mains and leave it undisturbed for two to four hours; the controller will trickle-charge the cell up through the acceptance threshold and then switch to normal absorption charge. If the indicator does not advance to green after four hours, measure cell voltage directly — anything below 5.0V indicates a cell that did not recover from deep discharge.
