Why the Infinity M540 alarms low battery immediately after a confirmed full charge
The M540 BMS sets its low-battery threshold against OEM cell chemistry parameters. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the charge controller applies a conservative capacity estimate on the first charge. The monitor reads that estimate against its alarm threshold and triggers the warning even though the pack is physically full. One complete charge-discharge cycle resets the BMS estimate and clears the alarm on subsequent boots.
M540 not completing boot sequence after battery sat in storage
Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage. If this battery sat in a warehouse or drawer for several months, its resting voltage may have dropped below the M540's BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or 5.0V across the pack. At that level, the monitor either stalls mid-boot or shows no response at all. Connect the battery to the M540's charger and leave it undisturbed for at least two hours before attempting power-on; the charge IC applies a trickle-recovery current that brings the cell back above the 5.0V floor needed for the BMS to authorise a boot.
