Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens because the motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling the cell voltage down faster than the indicator predicts. The BMS reads actual cell voltage, not a fixed time curve, so voltage sag under high draw triggers a power reduction before the LED shows low. The result looks like a weak battery when the real cause is filter restriction. Clean or replace the filter first, then test the pack — suction should hold steady until the indicator genuinely reaches the low threshold.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a few seconds
This is the BMS tripping on overcurrent protection, not cell failure. It triggers when sustained suction blockage — carpet pile, a partial clog, or a dirty filter — spikes current draw above the BMS cutoff threshold. The pack disconnects briefly, cools the FETs, then reconnects. The fix is not a new battery. Clear the blockage, clean the filter, and confirm there is no debris at the brush head. If cutouts stop after clearing the airflow path, the pack is functioning correctly.
