This 3.7V, 1750mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Drift HD Ghost, Ghost, Ghost S HD, and Ghost S action cameras. It shares the same OEM part references FXDC02 and 72-011-00. Voltage and capacity match OEM spec exactly — no modifications needed to the camera body or charge contacts.
- HD Ghost and Ghost S platform compatibility: All four models in this lineup share the same battery bay dimensions, contact layout, and BMS communication protocol. The cell housing measures 54.50 × 36.62 × 10.36mm — any variance trips the door latch, so tolerances here matter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Ghost S body. The BMS accepted the cell on first install, reported voltage accurately at the status LED, and held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold without false triggering.
- First-cycle initialisation on the Ghost body: After fitting a new cell, run one full charge cycle through the camera body via USB before your first shoot. The Ghost's fuel gauge calibrates its remaining-charge indicator against the new cell's discharge curve during that initial cycle — skipping it can cause erratic battery-level readings on the status display.
Why the Drift Ghost S drains faster during 1080p60 recording than standard playback suggests
At higher frame rates, the Ghost S runs its image processor at full load while simultaneously writing to the microSD card at sustained speed. This combined draw — sensor, processor, and card write — pulls significantly more current than the camera's basic standby or lower-resolution modes. The 1750mAh cell handles this load, but expect noticeably shorter sessions compared to shooting at 720p30. If the camera cuts out unexpectedly mid-clip, check that the microSD card is rated Class 10 or UHS-I — a slow card forces the buffer to stall, spiking current draw and triggering BMS cutoff prematurely.
Battery percentage jumping or dropping suddenly on the Ghost status display
The Ghost maps its battery indicator to fixed voltage thresholds set during OEM calibration. A new replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve shape, so the indicator can jump — showing 60% then suddenly 20% — before the camera completes one full cycle with the new cell. This is a calibration mismatch, not a fault with the battery. Run one full charge-to-full, then shoot until the camera shuts down on low battery, then recharge completely. After that single cycle, the indicator tracks the replacement cell's curve accurately.
