Radio cutting out mid-station at low battery
The DAB decoder in the Pocket Radio 5 needs a stable voltage to maintain stream synchronisation. As the cell discharges toward 3.4V, voltage sags under the decoder's draw and the stream drops out — the radio may cut audio, lose the station lock, or restart. This happens more often in areas with weaker DAB signal because the RF front end draws harder to maintain reception. Fitting a fresh cell with full charge eliminates sag-driven dropouts.
Reception noticeably worse than it was on the original battery
Poor reception after a battery swap usually means the new cell's resting voltage is low from storage — not a fault with the radio or antenna.
