This 14.8V 6600mAh Li-ion battery replaces OEM part 968734-02 in the Dyson 360 Eye robotic vacuum (RB01, RB01NB, and related variants). It powers the motorised brush head and suction motor through full autonomous cleaning cycles. Capacity matches the original Dyson specification — 97.68Wh at 14.8V nominal.
- 360 Eye RB01 platform fit: The RB01 and RB01NB share a single battery bay with a keyed connector and BMS handshake on the third pin. All models on this platform use the same 14.8V rail, so one cell covers the full variant range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and load cycles on a 360 Eye unit. The BMS initialised cleanly on first dock contact, cell balancing engaged across all four series groups, and the robot completed a full cleaning run without a mid-cycle cutoff.
- Dock charging habit for the 360 Eye: The 360 Eye returns to dock after every run and begins trickle charging immediately. Leaving it permanently docked accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion cells. Charge to full, then manually break the dock connection if the robot will sit idle for more than a few days.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
The 360 Eye's suction motor draws significantly more current when the filter is partially blocked or the brush head is jammed — often two to three times the rated draw. The BMS reads this spike as a low-voltage event and throttles output to protect the cell, which the robot interprets as depleted power rather than a blockage. The indicator stays green while suction visibly weakens. Clean the filter and check the brush bar before assuming the battery is at fault.
Robot cuts out mid-run and restarts after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a flat battery. Sustained restricted airflow — from a clogged filter or a brush head packed with hair — forces the motor to pull above the BMS overcurrent threshold. The BMS shuts the output rail, the robot stops, and once the BMS timer resets (typically 30–60 seconds), the robot recovers and continues. Clear the blockage first. If cut-outs persist on a clean filter with a new battery, check that cell voltage at full charge reads between 16.6V and 16.8V before returning to dock.
