It slots into the same battery bay as the original cell and uses the same BMS communication protocol recognised by the robot's motherboard. This happens when the battery pack can no longer hold voltage steady under motor load, even though the cell still reads a mid-range state of charge at rest. The robot's motor draws a sustained current spike on carpet transitions and edge-cleaning passes — a degraded or partially failed pack sags below the motor controller's minimum voltage threshold and the firmware reduces suction power to protect the circuit. It is not a filter issue if suction recovers immediately when the robot moves back to hard floor. Replacing the cell with a fresh pack rated at the correct 14.4V and 6700mAh resolves voltage sag at the source.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and resuming without a restart

A mid-cycle motor cutout that self-recovers is almost always a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. When the suction path is even partially restricted — a clogged filter, a tangled brush roll, or a near-full dustbin — the motor draws above its rated current to maintain airflow. The BMS detects the spike and cuts output to protect the cell, then resets once current normalises. Clean the filter and check the brush roll first. If cutouts continue on a clear airway with a fresh filter, the existing battery pack is no longer able to deliver current within the BMS's trip threshold — replace the cell.
