This is a 3.7V, 1450mAh Li-ion battery for the Emporia TALKsmart (V800, V800_001). It replaces part number AK-V800 directly. The cell restores power to calls, messaging, and standard phone functions after the original battery has degraded.
- TALKsmart / V800 platform fit: The V800 and V800_001 share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a V800 unit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge curve without fault codes, and the charge IC completed a full cycle to 4.2V without thermal cutoff triggering.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled. The fuel gauge IC on the TALKsmart calibrates its coulomb counter against the cell's discharge curve — skipping this step leaves the percentage readout unreliable for several days.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the TALKsmart after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve from the original cell. The new cell hits a voltage cliff — typically around 3.5V under modem or screen load — before the percentage reaches zero. The phone's power rail collapses faster than the old curve predicts. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard charge rate resets the coulomb counter and the shutdowns stop.
TALKsmart not powering on after the battery sat discharged in storage
Li-ion cells that drop below 2.5V trigger a BMS lockout to prevent damage from deep discharge. The phone will show nothing when you press the power button — no boot screen, no charging indicator. Connect it to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on; the BMS needs a trickle current to recover the cell voltage above the 2.9V re-enable threshold before normal charging resumes.
