Why the TM-P60 stops printing after sitting unused for weeks
Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage, and the TM-P60's BMS has a minimum motor drive voltage threshold — typically around 6.4V. If the battery drops below that, the printer powers on but the feed motor and thermal head receive no drive current. The printer appears to boot but will not respond to print jobs. A full charge cycle restores cell voltage above the threshold, and the printer resumes normal function.
Faded or uneven print density on a charged battery
The TM-P60's thermal head needs a stable voltage to heat print elements consistently. A battery with degraded cells delivers voltage that sags under the thermal head's load, causing the head temperature to fluctuate line by line — the result is faded text or uneven barcode density. This is a cell-condition issue, not a paper or head-alignment issue. If print quality recovers briefly after a full charge but degrades quickly under load, the original cell has lost capacity and needs replacement.
