ESYLUX SLE / SLF / SLG Series — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (EN10061998)
This is a 4.8V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery for ESYLUX SLE, SLF, and SLG emergency lighting units. It replaces OEM part EN10061998 and restores backup illumination during mains failure. Capacity is 9.6Wh, matching the original cell specification.
- SLE, SLF, and SLG compatibility: These three ESYLUX fitting lines share the same 4.8V cell arrangement, connector pinout, and charge controller interface — the same EN10061998 pack fits all three without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge cycle and a simulated mains-fail activation. The BMS accepted charge without fault, and the cell held voltage under load through the full test duration.
- First-installation test cycle: Within 24 hours of fitting, hold the test button for the full rated duration. This confirms the new cell accepts load and lets the charge controller register the new capacity before your next scheduled compliance inspection.
Emergency light failing its duration test after battery replacement
A freshly installed Ni-MH cell does not always arrive at full capacity — storage depletes it. ESYLUX charge controllers apply a float charge after installation, but the cell may need one complete charge-discharge cycle before it reaches rated capacity. If the unit cuts out before the required test duration, do not condemn the battery yet. Charge the fitting on mains for 24 hours, then rerun the test from a full charge state.
Charge indicator staying red after new battery installation
Some ESYLUX fittings will hold a red or fault LED if the incoming cell voltage sits outside the controller's float acceptance window — common when a battery has been in storage. The controller reads the resting voltage on first contact and may latch a fault rather than begin charging. Remove the battery, leave it disconnected for 60 seconds, then refit it so the controller re-polls the cell voltage from rest. If the indicator moves to amber within a few minutes, charging has started and the fault will clear at full charge, typically around 5.4–5.6V across the pack.
