- Dock charging habit on the Finestro: Do not leave the Finestro sitting on the charging dock continuously. The Finestro dock does not terminate charge cleanly after a full cycle — trickle current continues to flow, which compresses cell capacity over weeks. Charge to full, then remove it from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low
This happens when the motor draws more current than the BMS expects — usually caused by a partially blocked filter restricting airflow. The motor works harder against the restriction, voltage sags under load, and the BMS reads the sag as a low-cell condition before the actual charge level warrants it. Clean or replace the filter first. If suction recovers with a clean filter, the battery is fine. If sag persists with a clear filter, cell capacity has degraded and replacement is the correct fix.
Motor cuts out mid-use and then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a heavily loaded carpet, current draw spikes past the cell's rated discharge threshold. The BMS shuts the output to protect the cell, then resets once current demand drops. Check the filter and clear any blockage in the nozzle or hose before attributing the fault to the battery. If trips continue on a clear vacuum with a new cell, the motor itself may be drawing out-of-spec current.
