Why the SpaceView Pro parent unit drains overnight with the screen on
The parent unit display running through the night is a sustained draw — backlit LCD plus active 2.4GHz radio plus IR receiver all pulling from a single cell simultaneously. At that combined load, even a healthy 5200mAh cell will read low by morning. The SpaceView Pro has a screen timeout setting in the display menu — set it to the shortest interval you can tolerate. That alone cuts overnight draw significantly without affecting audio alerts.
Parent unit shows "out of range" immediately after battery swap
A freshly installed cell often ships at partial charge — typically around 3.6V. The SpaceView Pro's 2.4GHz radio module is voltage-sensitive; at low cell voltage, transmit power drops and the parent unit reports poor or no signal even when physically close to the camera. Charge the parent unit to full before testing range. A full charge brings the cell to 4.2V, which restores full radio output. If range is still reduced after a complete charge cycle, perform a fresh camera-to-parent-unit pairing from the menu.
