Fluke IR SMART / Ti50FT / Ti55FT — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TI-SBP)
This is a 7.4V, 6800mAh Li-ion battery that replaces the OEM TI-SBP pack in Fluke thermal imaging cameras. It fits the IR SMART, IR Flexcam, Ti50FT, and Ti55FT, among others. The battery slots into the same bay and communicates with the camera's power management circuit the same way the original does.
- IR SMART and Ti-series compatibility: These models share a common battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The camera's firmware reads cell voltage and temperature data from the battery over the communication line — this pack responds to those queries correctly, so charge indicators and low-battery warnings behave as expected.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on a Ti50FT under a simulated full-inspection load — display active, IR detector heating element drawing constant current. The BMS held steady through repeated charge-discharge cycles and did not trigger a false protection cutoff during motor-start-equivalent surge events.
- Field storage between inspections: If the camera will sit unused for more than two weeks, power it off completely rather than leaving it in standby. The thermal detector's idle heating circuit continues drawing current in standby, which can drag the pack below the BMS recovery threshold before your next job.

The Fluke Ti-series draws from two simultaneous loads: the LCD display and the uncooled microbolometer detector's heating element. Together, these create a combined current spike that can trip a BMS protection circuit if the pack's internal resistance is even slightly elevated. A new battery with a weak cell or a poorly matched BMS will cut out under this dual load even when the charge indicator still reads above 50%. The camera interprets the voltage drop as a fault condition and shuts down to protect the sensor array. If this happens, let the camera sit powered off for 60 seconds, then restart — if it recovers and runs normally, the issue is BMS sensitivity, not cell capacity.
Thermal accuracy drifting before the battery indicator shows low
The microbolometer detector in these cameras is voltage-sensitive — measurement accuracy degrades when cell voltage drops below approximately 7.0V even though the battery indicator may not flag low until closer to 6.6V. This means you can be looking at inaccurate temperature readings while the gauge still shows a usable charge. If spot temperatures start reading inconsistently against a known reference surface during an inspection, check the camera's battery voltage readout in the status menu rather than relying on the bar indicator. Swap the battery when the voltage readout falls below 7.1V to keep measurements within the camera's published accuracy spec.
