Range dropping on the Amarys 265 after a battery swap
The Amarys 265 DECT transmitter pulls a short current spike each time it syncs with the base. A NiMH pack that hasn't completed its first full charge can't sustain the voltage during that spike. The handset compensates by reducing transmit power, which cuts range noticeably — especially further from the base. Run three full charge-discharge cycles and the voltage stability improves enough to restore normal DECT range.
Handset not pairing with the base after battery replacement
Removing the battery on some DECT handsets clears the stored pairing data — the phone loses its registered base station ID. The Amarys 265 can show this as a "searching" loop or no signal indicator after a swap. Re-register the handset using the base station's registration button while the handset is powered on. Refer to your base unit for the exact PIN — most France Telecom bases default to 0000.
