Fujifilm FinePix S100FS / S200EXR — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NP-140)
The NP-140 is the lithium-ion battery for the Fujifilm FinePix S100FS, S200EXR, S205EXR, and S200FS bridge cameras. This replacement runs at 7.4V with a capacity of 1150mAh (8.51Wh). It fits the same compartment and connector as the original Fujifilm cell.

- First-cycle charge routine for the S-series: Insert this cell and charge it fully through the camera body or an OEM-compatible charger before your first shoot. The FinePix BMS uses that initial charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator — skipping it can cause the display to show inaccurate percentages from the start.
Flash recycling slowing down mid-shoot on the FinePix S100FS
The S100FS uses a built-in flash with a capacitor that recharges from the battery between shots. As the cell voltage drops toward the lower end of its discharge curve, the current available to recharge that capacitor decreases. You'll notice the ready light taking longer to appear between flashes. This is normal behaviour at low state of charge — it's the cell voltage sagging, not a fault with the replacement battery. Swap to a freshly charged cell when recycle times noticeably slow.
Battery percentage jumping around on the display after fitting this cell
The FinePix S-series maps battery percentage against a voltage-threshold table that was calibrated for the original NP-140 discharge curve. A new third-party cell can have a slightly different curve shape, causing the indicator to read unevenly — jumping from 80% to 50%, or holding at one level then dropping quickly. Running one full charge-to-discharge cycle through the camera body lets the BMS re-map against the actual cell behaviour. After that cycle, the percentage display stabilises and tracks accurately.
