Fujitsu CELSIUS H230 — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (0644260 / FPCBP91)
This is a 14.4V, 2200mAh (31.68Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for the Fujitsu CELSIUS H230 mobile workstation and compatible FMV-series notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers 0644260, FM-43A, and FPCBP91. The battery restores untethered operation on the CELSIUS H230 when the original cell has degraded past usable capacity.
- CELSIUS H230 and FMV-series fit: These models share a 14.4V four-cell Li-ion architecture with the same connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. The replacement cell communicates on the same SMBus line the BIOS uses to read state-of-charge and health data.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge on the CELSIUS H230 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes, and the charge controller stepped through CC/CV phases correctly to full cutoff.
- Post-install calibration on CELSIUS H230: After fitting, run the laptop on battery until it reaches hibernate cutoff — do not plug in early. Then charge uninterrupted to 100%. BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The CELSIUS H230 BIOS reads health data from EEPROM values written during the original cell's lifetime. When a new cell is installed, those stored values no longer match the actual chemistry, and the firmware flags the battery as degraded. This is a firmware-side data mismatch, not a fault with the replacement cell. Running one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the BIOS to rewrite its learned values against the new cell's actual characteristics.
Laptop shuts down hard at 20–30% state-of-charge shown on screen
This symptom points to a voltage cliff — the cell drops below the BMS cutoff threshold under full load before the fuel gauge reaches zero. It happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell has a different curve, so the percentage reading and the actual cell voltage become misaligned under CPU and display load. Run two full discharge-calibration cycles: discharge to hibernate cutoff each time, charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the fuel gauge IC will re-anchor its curve to the new cell — the shutdown threshold should stabilise at or below 10% shown.
