Fukuda Denshi FX-8322 ECG — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTE-002)
This is a 14.8V, 6800mAh lithium-ion battery for the Fukuda Denshi FX-8322 and FX-8322R electrocardiograph. It replaces OEM part numbers BTE-002 and 510114040. The battery powers the portable ECG unit during cardiac recording sessions in clinical environments.
- FX-8322 and FX-8322R platform: Both models run the same 14.8V four-cell series configuration with an identical connector and BMS handshake protocol. The same battery serves both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full charge and discharge on the FX-8322 platform. The BMS completed its cell verification handshake on first connection, and the charge IC accepted the cells without fault flags on the first charge cycle.
- Post-swap self-test protocol: After installing this battery, do not interrupt the FX-8322's power-on sequence. The device runs a BMS verification step at startup. Cutting power during this window registers a battery fault that persists until the next clean reboot, even if the battery is fully charged.
FX-8322 not completing boot sequence on a new battery
The FX-8322 runs a startup self-test that includes a BMS communication check. A replacement cell that has not yet completed one full charge cycle may report a state-of-charge value that falls below the device's internal boot threshold. The unit halts the boot sequence and displays a battery fault rather than reaching the home screen. Charge the battery to 100% using the device's own charger before the first power-on, then allow the full boot sequence to complete without interruption.
Low battery alarm triggers immediately after a confirmed full charge
This happens because the FX-8322's battery monitoring circuit compares the cell's reported capacity against a stored OEM baseline. A new replacement cell has not yet completed a learn cycle, so the BMS underestimates actual charge and trips the low-battery alarm early. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle before clinical use. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its capacity estimate and the alarm threshold aligns correctly with actual cell state.
