This is a 3.7V, 750mAh Li-ion cell built to the 361-00056-08 specification. It fits the Garmin DriveSmart 5, DriveSmart 55, DriveSmart 65, and Drive 6" series GPS navigators. The cell measures 47.00 × 34.20 × 4.60mm and matches the original connector and BMS handshake.

- Cold-start satellite acquisition after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the GPS on outdoors and let it run until it acquires a satellite fix before driving. A cold start after full power removal takes 5–10 minutes for first fix. Subsequent warm starts drop under a minute once the almanac is cached.
GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the DriveSmart series
When cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V, the DriveSmart's power management reduces receiver sensitivity to preserve display operation. This shows up as position drift or delayed map snapping to the road. Replacing the cell restores full receiver power budget. After fitting, let the unit charge to at least 3.9V before a long trip to keep the receiver running at full sensitivity throughout.
DriveSmart 5 shutting off without a low-battery warning
This happens because the battery indicator is calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A degraded or new-but-uncalibrated cell can show 30–40% charge on screen while the actual terminal voltage is already at the cutoff threshold. The device shuts off abruptly because the indicator and the real voltage don't match yet. Run two or three full charge and discharge cycles to let the fuel gauge re-learn the cell's actual curve.
